In the first place, in Anqing Foreign Language School’s Primary Department, the school-based curriculum includes some basic courses such as foreign teachers’ oral English teaching, shape-up exercise, brush calligraphy and electronic organ teaching. Also, there are more than 20 activities of interest, for instance, colored clay handcraft, science park, riddles, children’s dance, fancy kitchen, plantation paradise as well as little football. In addition, the school-based courses include study tours, themed education in terms of safety, gratitude, etiquette, environmental protection and popularization of science, Happy Reading Month, sports meet, Spring Cup, art performance, festivals and traditional opera culture.
More remarkably, the Primary Section establishes English courses since the first grade, introduces American textbook ‘Hooked on Phonics’ and English picture book reading, which lays a solid foundation for the future English learning. Since the second semester of Grade 2, the Primary Division adds the basic grammar learning and adds English reading classes in Grade 3 using the American teaching material ‘Vocabulary Workshop’. Also in Grade 3, we have foreign teachers’ oral English classes, ‘Daily Fluent English Sentence’ activities, children’s English songs, English textbook drama, English picture book reading, English fairy tale speech contest in addition to English talent shows.
In the second place, Anqing Foreign Language School independently develops the school-based teaching textbooks in the Junior High Division, for example, ‘Anqing Foreign Language School’s Homework’, ‘Junior High School English Reading’, ‘Junior High School Spoken English’, ‘Classic Reading’, ‘Daily Fluent English Sentence’, ‘Disciple Gauge’ and ‘Chinese Culture Textbook’. In the meantime, the Junior High Department sets up over 20 extracurricular activities such as sports, arts, subjects, handcrafts and life activities. What’s more, each year Anqing Foreign Language School carries out colorful activities, for example, overseas summer camp, spring outing, All Saints’ Day celebration, New Year’s Party and cross-school run in winter.
Last but not the least, faced with the new College Entrance Examination, Anqing Foreign Language School implemented the ‘Flexible Class Teaching Practice’ in the Senior High Department in 2017, simulated students’ selected courses and arranged course scheduling of the curriculum reforms so that a teacher had his own timetable and a student had his own class schedule too, which accumulated rich experience for the 10th-grade students’ new curriculum in 2018 and prepared for the new College Entrance Examination!
On the other hand, since the English exam in the College Entrance Examination can choose different languages, Anqing Foreign Language School’s Senior High Department took successful examples of brother schools and established College Entrance Exam Japanese classes to turn students’ disadvantages into advantages who were weak in English so that they could speed up their Japanese studies in three years and would improve grades in the College Entrance Examination.

To be specific, in the regular College Entrance Exam classes, in consideration of  stratified teaching, the Senior High Department establishes key classes, regular classes and Japanese classes. Other than that, so as to adjust to some students’ requests to study abroad, Anqing Foreign Language School sets up the study-abroad classes. After two years in the Senior High Department, students can enter the public universities in California, USA to try to be admitted to world-renowned universities.
Also, in order to meet the needs of arts& sports College Entrance Exams, Anqing Foreign Language School arranges students into certain classes who major in fine arts, media, sports, management of cultural industry and dance.
